Indeed, Macroeconomics is a very challenging subject. It is also very useful. However, like many other subjects, it takes a lot of effort to understand the subject well. In learning difficult subjects like this, students should use the teaching assistants and the teachers more. Try to let you teacher know which part you have confusion in. Engage in a dialogue with him. Most teachers like feedback from students. Upon receiving the feedback, they will try to explain more.
It is important to realize that whether and how much students learn from a subject depends on the two parties involved -- teachers and students. Imagine you were having a conversation with your friend to learn about a very important subject. The objective is learning. When you have difficulty understanding something he just says, what would you do? ..... Exactly! Ask a question. Ask him to clarify it.
Now, imagine you were trying to explain something very important to your friend. The objective is teaching. When your friend has difficulty understanding the subject, what would you do? ..... Exactly! Spend more time, try different approaches to explain that something to him. Do you want your friend to pretend that he understands the subject? No!
Dialogue is the most important element in the learning and teaching process. Your teachers are like your friends who try to explain something to you. If students are not willing to engage in a dialogue with the teacher, the effect of learning and teaching is very limited.
Be brave. Visit your teacher. Tell him what you had difficulty in. I am sure your teacher will help. I am sure you will learn much more.
